Third Annual GGG Poker Run Sunday, May 14!

The Golden Gate Guards are pleased to announce their 3rd. annual Poker Run to be held on Sunday, May 14, 2006.

The Poker Run is a small 2 to 3 hour ride through San Francisco and the Peninsula where we make four stops. At each stop (and during registration), riders receive a playing card in a sealed envelope. Midway through the tour, the Guards will offer complimentary sodas and water. At the end of the tour, riders will open their sealed envelopes -- that's when the best and worst poker hands will be determined!  This year the Poker Run will focus on San Francisco in conjunction with the 20th Annual Run theme.

There is no money involved -- no betting, no registration or entry fees.  It's just a fun way to get like-minded bikers (and non-bikers) out-and-about for an afternoon!  The event is not limited to motorcycles -- anyone participating in cars will be in the last 'group' to go through the course.

The event will end at the San Francisco Eagle Tavern just in time for the GGG's monthly Beverage Benefit.

3rd Annual Poker Run Event Schedule:
  • 11:30 AM - 12:15 PM:  No-Fee Registration at Starbuck's on Castro at 18th St.
  • 12:30 AM:  Kickstands Up (Begin Tour)

Mr. Cherry Blossom

Gather to watch the Cherry Blossom parade with The Golden Gate Guards on Sunday April 23.  Meet near the corner of Polk and Post at 1:00 PM.  After the parade walk a short distance to Tommy's Joynt (Van Ness & Geary) for a no-host lunch (everyone orders from the menu).  This is a great way to spend part of a relaxing Sunday.  This annual event was first started by Jason Fontaine in 1990.  Ted Hirscher (named in 2005) is the current Mr. Cherry Blossom.

Any questions?  Please contact Jason Fontaine at 415-421-1790.
