How To Join The
Golden Gate Guards

The Golden Gate Guards (GGG) are a non-profit organization serving the San Francisco Bay Area, open to both men and women, that promotes educational and charitable activities through social interaction among people in the alternative lifestyles communities with an interest in leather, Levis, motorcycles and uniforms. • participate in at least one GGG event during the year (typically the annual run) if reside outside the San Francisco Bay Area
    • may purchase and wear dress uniform to events
    • must be sponsored by two active members and go through 1 month pledge period

Those interested in joining must complete a Membership Application and obtain the signatures of two active members of the GGG. These two people will be your sponsors throughout the pledge period.  For more information, please contact the Membership Chairman (typically the Vice President).

During the pledge period, with the help of your sponsors, you should make yourself known to as many members of the GGG as possible. You are also required to attend meetings and other functions during this period. The exact number of required meetings and events depend upon the membership category you are interested in: Active or Associate. Your sponsors will give you more information.

At the completion of your pledge period, the active membership will vote to approve or disapprove your membership by secret ballot. A two-thirds "yes" vote is required for approval. If approved, the Initiation Fee (which covers the cost of the badges and patches) is payable at the end of the meeting.  New active members must purchase a uniform.  Uniforms are optional for associate members.
